The ceremony of the Pepite 2016 awards, « Tremplin Entrepreneuriat Etudiant », took place on november 8th, 2016 at the « Palais de Tokyo » in Paris, in the presence of Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, Minister of Education and Research, and Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State in charge of Higher Education and Research.
PLENESYS, represented by its co-founder Sabri Takali, is a winner of the 2016 edition, with a « first prize » of 10 000 €.
Project selected among 600 projects
Preselected in July 2016, with six other candidates, to represent the PACA-East region in the national finals, PLENESYS was selected among 600 other projects.
In this competition finals, not less than 587 projects have been examined and only 53 were selected.
A result of several years of research
The project of PLENESYS deals with the development and commercialization of an innovative tchnology of a three-phase plasma torch, a result of several years of research and development at the Centre PERSÉE, in Sophia Antipolis, France. This plasma torch constitutes a technological component with great prespectives for thermal processes requiring high temperatures and has proven advantages over competing technologies in the fields of energy, materials and waste treatment.
Awarded for the third year in a row, the Pépite Awards, organized as part of the i-Lab scheme, to support the creation of innovative technology companies, is one of the flagship actions of the national plan for student entrepreneurship launched in 2013.
Its goal is to support and encourage start-up creation projects for students and recent graduates by rewarding innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship projects.
