On July 5, 2018, PLENESYS was selected by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation as a “Grand Prix” award winner in the very competitive “i-Lab” contest from more than 380 applicants.
Along with the honor of receiving this prestigious award, a substantial public funding (amount to be announced within the next days) will be granted to PLENESYS from Bpifrance (Investment Public Bank), as part of the i-Lab contest, as well as a very valuable mentorship from Mr Luc Jacquet, CEO of boostHEAT.
i-Lab awards the best new start-ups in France. Out of more than 383 candidates, the national jury, chaired by Mr Ludovic Le Moan, CEO of Sigfox, has awarded 64 startups, 14 of which were selected as “Grand Prix”. These “Grand Prix” projects take on one of the social challenges as defined by the France Europe 2020 agenda.
In 20 years, the “i-Lab” contest stood out as a reference in the world of innovation and as genuine growth accelerator for the technological “deeptech” startups. The contest helps in detecting and developing new companies which will contribute to responding to the most important social challenges of our era. The winners receive a public funding up to 450.000 € and profit from a precious label helping with future fund raisings.
The prize was handed to Sabri Takali, and Ahmed Kacem, CEO & COO of PLENESYS, by Mrs Frédérique Vidal, the French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation at a ceremony in the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris.
This award is a recognition of the intensive work of PLENESYS co-founders with the support of their partners: MINES ParisTech, and more specifically the PERSEE Centre (including co-founders Pr. Laurent Fulcheri and Dr. Frédéric Fabry), as well as the PACA-Est Incubator. The help of these partners, along with the i-Lab award will enable PLENESYS to boost its growth and finalize its product in 2019.
